Context
The Aging and Population Health Lab at SFU has recently been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research to disseminate findings from our Flooring for Injury Prevention (FLIP) Study, which is a randomized controlled trial designed to evaluate the ability of compliant flooring to prevent serious fall-related injuries among residents of long-term care.
We are seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate knowledge dissemination events, produce and distribute knowledge translation tools, and build and maintain relationships with stakeholders related to our research program on compliant flooring for fall injury prevention.

Number of Positions: 1
Dates: August 2018 to April 2019
Hours of Work: 20% FTE (1 weekday/week)
Location: Aging and Population Health Lab, SFU, Burnaby, BC
Hourly Pay: $25-$30/hour, depending on experience
Job Description
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to dissemination efforts in a number of ways. This will include, but is not limited to:
Coordinate knowledge dissemination events, including a Stakeholder Symposium and Webinar
Produce and distribute knowledge translation tools, including a research brief, a policy brief, and infographics
Provide strategic input on additional knowledge dissemination events and knowledge translation tools that would be effective for reaching goals
Maintain and build new relationships with stakeholders across multiple sectors
Synthesize research findings for stakeholder audiences, facilitate meetings, negotiate common goals
Skills & Qualifications Required
Master's degree in epidemiology/health sciences/population health/health services research/kinesiology or a relevant field. Applicants with a doctoral degree will also be considered and may be preferred.
Knowledge of knowledge translation theories, principles, and practices.
Demonstrated experience in planning and executing knowledge translation activities.
Knowledge of and experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Experience with graphic design, strategic communications, media relations, and project management would be strong assets.
Professional and mature in working with teams.
Excellent time management, organization, oral and written communication.
Detail oriented, superb ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently to meet deadlines.
Comfort and ability to work independently.
Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
